AHRC, the Adventist Humanitarian Resource Center, will host the 7th Annual Community Fair on the campus of the Boulevard SDA Church at 8441 Roosevelt Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19152 on Sunday, August 31, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
This is our seventh year of providing a free health and wellness event for the people of Philadelphia and over the past six years we have welcomed more than ten thousand community members, assisted local, state and federal agencies with providing outreach and constituent services, operated an all day snack bar serving free, healthy snacks and provided free, healthy meals to community members. We feature live cooking demonstrations with food tastings. We anticipate more than 3,500 visitors for this year’s event.

Drawings for school bags with school supplies for elementary and middle school children, free moon bounces, face painting, balloon art, pony rides and other attractions are offered for children. Drawings in the afternoon include a grand prize laptop computer. Admission, parking, all meals, beverages and prizes are free to those who register and receive tickets for the drawings.
Each year we provide free health screenings conducted by licensed professionals and we will again provide free blood pressure, body mass index, cholesterol and glucose screenings and free, confidential, on site, HIV and STD testing, counseling and referrals. Our unique “Ask A Pharmacist” booth has proven to be a useful and highly popular area where those taking medications can get useful information about medications and holistic substances.
We welcome ministries and agencies that provide service to our local communities to join with us and greet the community and there is no fee for church and not for profit agencies of all denominations to participate.
